Police fatally shot man in investigation into death of missing Massachusetts woman

According to Vermont State Police, police shot and killed a person of interest who was wanted in connection with a missing Massachusetts woman found dead in Vermont. On Tuesday, the body of Mary Anderson, 23, of Harvard, Massachusetts, was found in Brattleboro at 12:55 a.m. on Elliot Street in a blue truck. She was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Hudson, New Hampshire. She was reported missing by her family around 5 p.m. Sunday. Police say Anderson’s death appears suspicious. They said an autopsy would be performed on Wednesday to determine the cause and circumstances of his death and make a positive identification. He was located by members of the Vermont State Police and the Brattleboro Police Department while walking around West Brattleboro. Police were looking to find and speak with Anderson’s former boyfriend, Matthew Davis, 34, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. They said they thought he might have information relating to the ongoing investigation. Police said Davis was white, about 5ft 6in tall, and had brown hair and blue eyes.
